Plata Cubana Privacy Policy

Version of October 9, 2026 · Last updated: October 9, 2026 · See previous versions

This policy explains what data Plata Cubana (platacubana.com, its apps and its help centre) processes, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Who we are

Plata Cubana is a personal project, developed and maintained independently. Any questions about this policy or your data can be sent to ceo@mercamoney.com.

2. What data we keep

We keep the minimum needed for the service to work:

  • Account: email address, username and, if you add them, your name and phone number.
  • If you sign up with Google or Facebook: the email address, name and profile picture those services confirm to us; never your password for those accounts or access to anything else in them.
  • What you add to the service: your counts, calculator tapes, cash registers, shopping lists, contacts, ads and orders, so that you can see them and sync them across your devices.
  • Messages: messaging conversations are end-to-end encrypted: the server stores the encrypted message in order to deliver it, but it does not have the key to read it.
  • Help centre: if you write to us from the help centre, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, your messages, any files you attach and, if you give it, your rating of the support you received. If you come from your account, also your user identifier, so that you can see your requests there.
  • Technical data: the IP address of your connections (for security and to prevent abuse) and, if you turn on notifications, an identifier of your device so that we can send them to you.

3. What we use it for

To identify your account, show you your information, sync it across devices, alert you to sign-ins or security changes, and reply when you write to us. None of this is used for advertising: Plata Cubana does not show third-party ads or sell advertising space.

4. Who we share data with

  • Google and Facebook: only if you choose to sign in with those services; we ask them to confirm your identity and we do not send them any of your data from the service.
  • Firebase (Google): only to send notifications to your device.
  • Exchange-rate sources (BCC, El Toque, Frankfurter, ExchangeRate-API): we only look up public rates; we never send them any of your data.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. The cookies and browser storage we use are explained in the cookie policy.

5. Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of or complete deletion of your account and your data at any time by writing to ceo@mercamoney.com. Deletion is final and cannot be undone.

6. Security

Passwords are stored encrypted (never in plain text) and messaging conversations are end-to-end encrypted. Even so, no system is infallible: use a unique password for your Plata Cubana account.

7. Minors

Plata Cubana handles financial information and is not intended for minors without the supervision of a responsible adult.

8. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we will publish a new version, with its effective date and a summary of the change. Previous versions can be consulted in the history.

9. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Spain, the country of residence of the person who develops and maintains Plata Cubana.

10. Contact
